David Kramer, Director of Tennis

The Star Ledger has recognized David as one of the best tennis players in New Jersey history and has named David to its Millennium Team. His tennis accomplishments include:

  • Career high No. 2-ETA ranking in the 18-and-under-age division in 1979.
  • Member of the USA-Junior Davis Cup affiliate team in 1982.
  • Winner of the Men’s 35-and-over Masters Grass Court Championship, West Side Tennis Club in Forest Hills. N.Y., in 1998.
  • Winner of 21 Eastern ranked tournaments

 

Marko Choma
Mark is a USPTA certified instructor who played on the Rutgers University tennis team. He traveled extensively throughout Europe as the senior tennis instructor for Club Med Israel. Marko is also head pro at the Maplewood Club.


Barry Gilbert
Barry obtained a top 30 national ranking as a junior and played in the NCAA tournament as a member of the University of South Carolina. A world-class player and coach who played on the pro tour for a number of years.


 

Lawrence Jellinek
Larry is a USPTA-certified instructor whose 23-year professional career as a teaching pro and traveling coach has taken him across the country and throughout Europe. A past singles competitor, he has an extensive background working with junior, collegiate and professionally ranked players including Justin Gimelstob, Robert Devins, David Wells-Roth and Kieran Burke Jr.


 

Tom Levine
Tom learned the game from former USPTA president George Basco, received a Top 30 ETA junior ranking and played at Winthrop University on a tennis scholarship. Upon graduation he taught at the Wilkison Smith Tennis Academy in Charolette, N.C. His most prominent student is Nicole Arendt, former Top 50 WTA singles player.


 

Tim Means
Tim is a certified USPTA pro who played college ball at the University of Texas. He learned the game from Mike Estep and Cliff Drysdale and brings over 20 years of teaching experience to Brooklake Tennis.


 

Bob Merk
Bob has coached and produced numerous all-state players, team captains and outstanding competitors throughout his illustrious, 25-year teaching career. He has a proven method for teaching as evidenced by his loyal following, phenomenal results and incredible longevity. Bob is a USPTA certified instructor.


 

Omar Sebastian
Certified by the U.S.P.T.A. & teaching tennis for over 30 years.


 

Ronnie Paschal
A standout player at Seton Hall Prep and Rutgers University. Ronnie brings over 15 years of teaching experience to Brooklake as a phenominal player and insightful coach for both juniors and adults.


 

Roger Shapiro
Roger played first singles and was the captain of the Bloomfield High School team from 1975-76. He is a certified USPTA instructor and coached the Rutgers Men’s and Women’s team from 1999-2001.


Sharon Tietjen
Sharon was ranked in the top #4 in the ETA and played college tennis at Boston University. She coaches the Brooklake ladies team and is known for her incredible clinics.


 

Drew Sutton
Drew was a top ranking junior from NJ who played D1 college tennis.


 

Marion Weber
A former top junior, pro tour player and doubles specialist, Marion brings over 20 years of coaching experience of all ages and levels to Brooklake Tennis. She has coached numerous clinics in South Africa and traveled Europe extensively. Marion has a unique ability to incorporate mechanics, strategy and the mental and physical aspects of the game into her coaching.
